Parents Right to Know
All CITY Center for Collaborative Learning schools receive federal funds for Title 1, Part A programs. As a parent of a student in a Title 1 school, you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers who teach your student. Federal law allows you to ask for information about your student's classroom teachers and requires the school to give you this information in a timely manner. You have the right to ask for the following information about each of your child's classroom teachers:
1. Whether the teacher meets the state qualifications and licensing criteria for the grades and subjects they teach.
2. Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or provisional status because of special circumstances.
3. Whether the teacher has any advanced degrees and the field of discipline of the teacher's certification or degree.
4. Whether the child is provided services by a paraprofessional and, if so, their qualifications.
As a learning organization where everyone considers themselves a learner, our teachers take part in continued professional development activities and are evaluated each year to ensure teaching meets the highest possible standards.
You may use the form below to request information in these four areas.
